My husband Floyd retired from the US Army (Helicopter Pilot) in 1991 after a 27-year career. Shortly thereafter, we moved to Saudi Arabia where he worked as an Advisor to the Saudi Aviation Command. During the 9 years my husband and I lived in Saudi Arabia, we decided to come to San Miguel on vacation in Oct of 1999.  And during that 8-day period, we became so enamored with San Miguel that we purchased a home before our return to Saudi!   It was the best move we have ever made.

We dearly wanted friends and family to come visit us. So we purchased the vacant lot next door, and built Casa Alicia. It was designed with an elegant separate entrance to ensure the privacy of our guests as well as to provide a larger, more comfortable patio area than we originally had.   Additionally, any friend or renter staying there would be assured that there would always be someone "next door" who could handle repairs, greet guests no matter the hour, handle emergencies, provide translation services, advice, and guidance during their stay in San Miguel.

​Our kitty, Maya, is strictly a house cat, although she does occasionally go outside to the patio.  But if anyone were not to want a pet around, she can stay totally indoors during your stay.

​

Almost to a person, if a San Miguel resident were to be asked where they would RATHER be, they would say they could not think of a better place!  The weather is temperate year-round, the people are open-armed friendly, activities are available for almost any person's interest, and fabulous restaurants to suit every taste -- you name it!
